Director Prompt Builder
On video direct tools, the Director Prompt Builder is an optional panel below your main scene description. It helps you assemble a clear, structured prompt from templates, style options, and your own notes—then copy or send the result into the main prompt when you are ready.
You can ignore the panel entirely and type in the main box as usual; it is there when you want a guided workflow.
When you see it
- The panel appears on video creation pages (direct video tools), under the main prompt area.
- It loads a library managed in MediaSnap (templates and style vocabulary can change over time without an app update).
What you can do
Quick starts
Quick start pills apply a preset: they may set a suggested template, starter idea text, and output style. You can edit everything afterward.
Category and template
- Filter by category — Narrows the template list (e.g. cinematic, product, travel).
- Template — Optional scaffold for the kind of shot or story beat you want. Templates may include a ★ featured marker for common workflows.
Use template defaults — If the template has suggested style chips linked in the library, this selects those defaults. You can still toggle chips on or off.
Style chips
Style options are grouped (for example lighting, camera movement, color, composition).
- Multiple groups let you pick several chips.
- Single-choice groups (like shot type) keep one chip selected per group so the prompt stays focused.
Each chip adds phrasing tuned for video prompts; you do not need to memorize technical wording.
Your text fields
- Scene / idea — The core of what should happen (subject, action, intent).
- Extra direction — Notes for tone, pacing, or brand voice.
- Camera notes — Lens feel, movement, framing intent.
- Setting & action — Location and what unfolds in the space (if you want it separate from the main idea).
- Avoid (negative) — What should not appear (e.g. “no text overlays”, “no cartoon look”).
Output mode
Controls how tightly the composed text is structured:
- Simple — Compact, fewer labels.
- Rich — Clear sections and labels (good default for most users).
- Cinematic — More narrative, trailer-style flow.
Preview, copy, and apply
- Build prompt — Composes text in the Preview box using your template, chips, and fields (server-side, consistent results).
- Copy preview — Copies the preview to your clipboard.
- Replace prompt / Append — Choose whether Apply to prompt overwrites the main prompt or adds below existing text.
Your manual edits in the main prompt stay yours until you choose Apply (or append).
Collapse the panel
Click the Director Prompt Builder header to collapse or expand the panel if you want more space on screen.
Tips
- Start with a Quick start or a template, then refine Scene / idea—that combination usually gives the best results.
- Prefer one strong shot per generation; use the builder to reinforce mood and camera, not to list ten unrelated ideas.
- If the preview feels long, switch to Simple mode or remove a few style chips.
