Project Profile & Settings
Project Profile is the canonical place to configure how a project behaves and how new generations start. Older links labeled “Project Settings” redirect here in Director Studio.
What you can set
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Identity | Name, description, category, tags |
| Format | Aspect ratio, output format preferences |
| AI defaults | Preferred models and options for image, video, character, environment |
| Visual | Project poster for the story hero background |
| Operational | Budget warnings, workspace options (when enabled) |
Defaults apply to new work in the Creation Engine. Existing attached media is unchanged.
Where to open Project Profile
- Director Studio → project menu (hamburger) → Project Profile, or
- Navigate to
view=project-profilewith your project open
Cast and set JSON (universe kit style data) may still be edited from story-related views and saved via project settings APIs — creative structure also lives in Elements.
Project Manager (separate)
Project Manager covers lightweight production ops: contacts, todos, notes. It is not the same as Project Profile metadata and AI defaults.
Relationship to Elements
| Surface | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Project Profile | Project-wide metadata and generation defaults |
| Elements | Cast, sets, and reference assets |
| Overview | Scenes and shots structure |
Keep creative cast/set work in Elements; keep “how tools behave by default” in Project Profile.
Tips
- Set video defaults before generating many shots
- Upload or generate a poster early — it appears on the story hero
- Review Project Defaults for how defaults flow into the Creation Engine
