Director Studio (Plan)

In the cinematic UI, PLAN in the top bar opens Director Board. That is the planning section of the product — script, chapters, shots, and Snap.

Older docs called the whole studio “Director’s Hub.” Today:

  • Director Studio = the cinematic app shell
  • Director Board = the PLAN workspace (view=story)

What PLAN includes

COCKPIT (Overview) is a separate top-bar step — project dashboard and shortcuts, not the same as Director Board.

Director Board — the heart of PLAN

Snap — assistant on Director Board

Snap is the AI assistant here. Open it from the top navigation and talk:

  • New scripts and stories, chapters, shots, cast, locations, and props
  • Enhance prompts and get cinematic ideas
  • Generate image, video, and audio from chat (model, references, confirm)
  • Rewrite shot scripts with preview before apply
  • Remember the project — Snap uses live chapter, shot, and element data

Much of a production can run just by talking to Snap on Director Board. You do not have to open the Creation Engine for every task.

Production script panel

Structured draft on the right — chapters, shots, cast, sets. Snap proposes; you review and edit. Long scripts use async jobs with a live thinking stream.

Chapter board

User-facing label is Chapter (database may still use scene internally):

  • Add chapter — story beats
  • Shots inside each chapter — units for media attach
  • Filters, strip/grid layout, shot cards
  • Handoff to Creation Engine per shot when you want the full GENERATE page

Open Elements from the PLAN sidebar:

  • Characters (cast)
  • Environments (sets)
  • References

Typical workflows

Snap-first

  1. Director Board → describe idea to Snap
  2. Confirm script → create chapter via wizard if offered
  3. Generate shots from Snap or inline controls
  4. COMBINE → EXPORT

Chapter board + Creation Engine

  1. Director Board → add chapters and shots manually
  2. Open in Creation Engine on a shot
  3. Generate and attach
  4. COMBINE → EXPORT

Tips

  • Say chapter, not “scene,” in the UI
  • Director Board is the section name for PLAN
  • Snap can plan and generate; Creation Engine is the dedicated GENERATE step when you want it
