Snap on Director Board

Director Board is the PLAN step in the top bar. It is where Snap is the assistant: plan chat on one side, production script and chapter board on the other.

If you only learn one place to work with Snap, make it Director Board.

Why Director Board + Snap

Most of what an AI media production needs can start here — by talking:

  • New scripts and stories — logline to full production script
  • Chapters and shots — structure before you spend credits
  • Cast, locations, and props — named in the script and stored in the project
  • Prompts — Snap enhances weak lines into cinematic direction
  • Ideas — lighting, camera, genre, pacing suggestions
  • Generateimage, video, and audio from chat (choose model, references, confirm)
  • Remembering the project — Snap uses live data, not a one-off reply

Confirm what you want; Snap does not silently overwrite your board or auto-export video.

The two sides of Director Board

Side What you do
Snap chat Natural language — “write act 1,” “generate shot 4,” “add a mentor character”
Script & chapter board Review chapters, shots, cast/locations/props; edit; open chapter board

After a long script, the confirmation wizard can summarize, offer new element images, and let you create a chapter when you are ready.

Generate by talking (no Creation Engine required)

From Snap chat you can:

  1. Describe the media (image, clip, sound, etc.)
  2. Attach references when needed
  3. Pick model and settings in the flow
  4. Confirm the prompt
  5. Media runs in the background — results go to the project library
  6. Attach to the right shot, cast member, or location

Inline Generate on script rows does the same for cast, set, and prop reference images without leaving the script panel.

Props, cast, and locations

Snap can propose cast (characters), locations (sets), and props inside the production script. They organize under your project and Elements so:

  • Names stay consistent in every shot prompt
  • Reference images can attach for generation
  • The chapter board and Creation Engine handoff see the same data

When to open Creation Engine anyway

Use GENERATE (Creation Engine) when you want the large canvas, Prompt Studio sidebar, Continue Segment, reference decks, and the full command bar — often for many shots in one session.

Snap remains available from the top nav on that page too.
